Membership is open to any individual who is a descendant of a Huntington. An application for membership must be completed and sent to the Secretary-Treasurer with the appropriate membership fee. Upon verification of your ancestry, you will receive a certificate of membership and a copy of the most recent newsletter. Your name will be added to our mailing list and you will continue to receive our newsletter as long as your membership is active.
There are two primary types of membership in the Huntington Family Association. The first is Life membership, costing $100.00. This is a one-time fee, and entitles the member to receive the Association newsletter, a vote at the Association business meetings held at the reunion, and a discount on all items sold by the Association. Life membership expires upon the death of the member.
The second type of membership is Annual, costing $10.00. This membership must be paid yearly. After twenty years of payments, the Annual member is automatically promoted to Life membership, thereby ending the annual dues. Annual members receive the same benefits as Life members. Annual membership expires if the dues are not paid each year.
There is a third type of membership which is rarely given. It is Associate membership. It is identical to Annual membership, except the member cannot be promoted to Life, and the member cannot vote at business meetings. These members do receive the newsletter and discounts on all items sold by the Association. This membership is given to those individuals who are interested in supporting the Association, but who are not descended from a Huntington family. Associate membership expires if the dues are not paid each year.
All membership fees are used to support the work of the Association. The officers of the Association do not receive any compensation for their time and effort. They are volunteers.
If you are interested in joining our Association, please contact our Secretary-Treasurer or download a membership application, which can be viewed and printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader.
